The Great Ocean Road

On Sunday we left for a trip down the Great Ocean Road. A colleague of Angus's was kind enough to offer to be our guide. We met Cameron and his family at their home Sunday morning and then off we went. We had booked a night at a motel in Apollo Bay, on the way we stopped for brunch at Torquay. The kids loved the walk on the beach - both getting quite wet as they played in the surf.

We had to take Stephen's pants off as they were soaked.

Stephen was asleep within minutes of being back in the car on the way to Apollo Bay.

We had a great time holidaying in the Bay. We had a late lunch on the beach and the kids all played in the sea. That night, while Mom and Stephen went back to the motel for sleeptime, the others all enjoyed the carnival. Emily was so excited because she was tall enough (by less than 1cm), to go on the rides - she loved them - definitely takes after her father!!.

On Monday we went exploring down the Great Ocean Road. We went for a walk in a rain forest in Otways. It was amazing, the moss covered maple trees and tree ferns made for a magical time.

We stopped furher along the road to see this Californian Redwood Forest. It was planted 70 years ago and already the trees are HUGE. It was dizzingly beautiful as the sun peered through the branches.
