Lightning McSteve

My little stuntman turned three on Wednesday 12 August.
The anticipation for the big day had been building since I had made the fondant car the previous week.
I managed to finish the full cake the Tuesday morning, which was great, since I had visions of
working all night :-)

Emily had made a card for Stephen the night before, but she was not able to finish colouring it in before bed time...so she was up at 6am to finish the card and then came to wake us up.

So we were all up real early opening presents...these are two of Stephen's favourites, a dragon outfit and a dinosaur that walks and roars.

Special birthday breakfast with sussie.

The birthday boy with his sister.

He had his party at an indoor playarea with a few of his friends from church and bible study.

Daddy was able to join us for the party, which was a great treat!

We have discovered that Stephen does not like a lot of attention from large groups of people and tried to hide his face when we sang happy birthday.

Eating my 2 hours of sugar labour :-)

At the end of the festivities in the party room, the birthday child gets taken around the room on a throne.

Here is a video of the birthday day.

Here is my boy 'dancing' to his favourite song.

My little boy at three loves dragons and dinosaurs...if you ask him what his name is he will reply, "dragon".

He enjoys playing dress up and will spend hours creating with his play dough.

His cars, trains and aeroplanes get a whole lot of attention.

He is not so good at his colours, if you ask him what a certain objects' colour is, he will always say "black!" So as long as you ask him what colour the cows, road or tyres are - he gets it right :-)

He is very affectionate and often tells me he loves me "much".

He is a 'full-on' boy with loads of energy and loves playing soccer and cricket - although he would probably be excellent at rugby...grab the ball from the other kid and run away as fast as you can, if the other kid gets it back, tackle him until he lets it go!

He loves veggies, broccoli and beans being his favourite. Chocolate is high on his list of what he enjoys.

If I hear him doing something that he should not be, when I ask him what he is doing he will reply "not something, Mom, not something!"

We love him so much and are extremely thankful to the Lord for giving us such a vibrant addition to our family.
